Terms of Service

Agreement

By creating an account or using Footy Skillz, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service. We may update these terms from time to time; material changes will be posted here with an updated date and, where appropriate, communicated to you by email.

Who can use the service

  • Adults (18+): may create accounts as parents, coaches, club managers, or athletes acting for themselves.
  • Minors under 18: a parent or legal guardian must create and manage the athlete profile and consent to data collection on the minor's behalf.
  • Athletes 13-17: may have their own login if a parent or guardian links their account first.
  • Athletes under 13: may not create their own accounts; profiles are parent-managed.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:
  • Capture or upload videos of anyone without their (or their legal guardian's) consent.
  • Use the service to harass, bully, or expose minors.
  • Attempt to access another user's account or another club's data without permission.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise extract data from the service except for your own captures and metrics.
  • Resell or redistribute the service without a written agreement with us.
  • Upload content that infringes copyright, contains malware, or violates any law.
We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations.

Subscriptions and billing

  • Most features require a paid subscription. Pricing is shown on the pricing page; clubs are billed monthly per athlete on the active roster, plus a flat platform fee.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • We do not offer refunds for partial periods. If we terminate your account for a violation of these terms, no refund is owed.
  • Payment processing is handled by Stripe. You agree to their terms when you provide payment information.

Your data and content

You own the videos and data you upload. You grant us a limited license to process them as needed to provide the service: store, transcode, run computer-vision analysis, generate the overlay video and metrics, and serve them back to you and authorized viewers.

You may export or delete your data at any time. See the Privacy Policy for the details.

Athlete history and club transfers

When an athlete moves between clubs, their capture history and metrics travel with them by default. The new club can see the athlete's previous metrics; coach-authored notes stay private to the club where they were written. The parent or guardian can override this default at the per-club level via the privacy controls in the parent dashboard. Clubs onboarding athletes accept this as a condition of using the service.

No medical or scouting guarantees

Footy Skillz produces sports performance metrics. The metrics are NOT medical advice, NOT a guarantee of athletic ability, and NOT a substitute for professional coaching or medical evaluation. The service is not designed to detect injuries or health conditions. Use it as one input among many.

Service availability

We work hard to keep the service running, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, third- party outages (Google Cloud, Vercel, Stripe), and other factors can cause downtime. We're not liable for losses arising from temporary unavailability.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Footy Skillz and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Termination

You may close your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these terms, fraud, abuse, or risks to other users. After termination, the data retention rules in the Privacy Policy apply.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought in the courts located in Ontario unless otherwise required by applicable consumer- protection law in your jurisdiction.
